We had multiple kids engaging in individual classes and the group program for a couple of decades. I was seeking a scenario that would offer The children with a chance to collaborate with other gifted young musicians and understand performance skills. The Music Factory was suitable since it`s quite near where I live, however, it did not work out and the principal reason is college proprietor Danny Thompson.
We strove hard to make it function. However there were openings in this app.
The person classes were Ok. Eric Behringer supplied quality drum education but he has gone now like the others you`ll read about below. But if you would like your student to understand regular music notation and concept you have to be mindful. This college does not concentrate on this and it`ll be based on what instructor you wind up with.
Great individual schooling is widely available everywhere. It was the group program that brought us to TMF at the first place, but that program was be a wreck. They didn`t understand how to instruct a ring course or even the way to architect a group to perform audio. Plus they had been flaky. A scheduled operation was imminent so that we responded by conducting a few rehearsals ourselves but college owner Danny Thompson did not enjoy this. In addition, he did not enjoy it if we attempted to help the children select tunes to understand, communicate with different parents, or assist our daughter use their very own little keyboard rather than the college`s dinosaur. We did not feel welcome in the school. Danny seemed to only want us to lose our children there and depart. I believe that is because we desired to understand what was happening and occasionally asked questions. But we never needed anything in Danny or the faculty. We did attempt to go over our concerns about the group program with Danny and I offered to volunteer in the college to help out. Then without warning he deleted my children` accounts at the school`s internet system sending THEM a message they were”outside”! He did not discuss choices with us, provide us the chance to withdraw from the college, or care about the impact his actions would have on our children or other children at TMF. He simply deleted their account and informed them that they had been outside without even giving us a opportunity to tell them exactly what was occurring. They are just children they did not deserve that!
Danny Thompson is a insecure, unprofessional, over-controlling person who only really appears to know 1 style of songs. He does not need anyone around who understands anything or may have other thoughts or query him in any manner. He brags about his”world excursions” playing drums for the obscure punk rock group and apparently believes that provides him the ability to dictate the principles of supplying a music instruction for kids. Apparently it does not. Doing harm to a child by setting a permanent memory to them that they had been”kicked out” of a college though the kid did nothing to deserve that does not faze Danny since he`s a narcissist who lacks the empathy to understand that if kids are entrusted to him he`s accountable for their health and that his activities and behaviour will influence them, possibly forever.
If you`re a parent that cares about what your child will understand and that they`ll learn it out of look elsewhere. You will find other music colleges with greater specialist governance and a much more flexible and capable approach for teaching your child.
